Pastor JD & Ate Edna (Tagaytay, Philippines)

Pastor JD and Ate Edna serve in Tagaytay City in the Philippines. They have dedicated their life’s work to building up both In His Presence Christian Church (IHPCC) and Tagaytay Christian Academy (TCA).

At the young age of 18, John David Auxtero felt called by the Lord to start a Christian school for impoverished children. TCA began in the Auxtero's resident basement as a home school for five children. Pastor JD became both the head teacher and administrator of the school, with only his friends to help him. As they continued to faithfully teach, the school became a vessel for sharing the Gospel and extending Christ’s compassion to children who couldn’t afford an education.

Edna Auxtero, who was doing ministry in China, felt called to specifically go to Tagaytay. When she arrived in Tagaytay, Edna's heart was softened by John David's ministry. She grew passionate for TCA’s ministry and gave financially as the Lord directed her to. Moreover, John David and Edna fell in love and got married! Ate Edna became the head administrator of TCA and an elder of IHPCC. Together, they continued to build TCA and IHPCC and further its vision for empowering and educating the impoverished.

As years passed by, the couple was met with incredible hardship as the school continued to accommodate more students with few resources and little income. Through fervent prayer, the Lord heard their outcry and honored their faith by continuing to miraculously provide for TCA through donors and partnerships every year. Despite its humble beginnings, TCA now educates and serves over 200 students yearly.

MinistrY HIGHLIGHTS

Outreach Ministry

IHPCC has been dedicated to serving and providing church services for people living in impoverished outreach communities. Every Saturday and Sunday, members of IHPCC travel to over 6 outreaches located throughout Tagaytay to host worship, share the Word, and do children’s ministry. This ministry has brought countless families to Christ and shared the Gospel with individuals who typically do not have access to church due to transportation expenses. Furthermore, IHPCC has dedicated a portion of its funds to supporting families who live in these impoverished communities. Throughout the year, and especially during Christmastime, church members gather funds and organize gift giving projects to serve outreach communities. Gift giving provides food, hygiene kits, and other basic necessities to alleviate the needs of struggling families.

Child Sponsorship

Child sponsorship provides children of low-income families with an opportunity for quality education that they otherwise cannot afford. Empowering people to live out their God-given purpose through education is central to the mission of TCA. Child sponsorship has fruitfully produced many testimonies of people who found Christ and a chance to end their family’s poverty cycle through TCA.

F3 Youth Ministry

This youth ministry provides teens a place to fellowship with food and games, worship, receive the Word, and be mentored by other adults in the church. Both IHPCC and TCA are committed to raising up the next generation of Christian disciples and leaders.
